We formed G-Mark in 2002, me and four other guys. We were all fans of Prog Rock and got the band together to write and perform original material in that style. The name G-Mark derived from the five band member’s first names, Geoff Murrell, Mark Millar, Andy Tunstall, Rob Horne and Kim Buttress. Not very original I know, Abba had done it years earlier and with a little more success, but we were struggling for a handle.
Kim the drummer was replaced within six months by James O'Dowd and that is the line up that recorded the band's only album 'Maiden Flight'. I left in 2004 and was replaced on vocals by female singer Cat. Mark (keyboard) left in 2006 and the band eventually folded in late 2006.
